Rules and conditions
- All parade entries must promote the parade theme of “America, Foundation of Freedom”. No political slogans are included in the theme and will not be permitted in the parade.
- All Entries will be expected to keep content of the float, participates, attire and behavior appropriate for General Audiences (viewers under 2 years to adult)
- The parade will begin at Central Street and Field Ave in Hildale, UT and end at Edson Ave in Colorado City, Az. The first float will enter Central Street at 10:00 am July 4th. Disembark at the post office parking lot.
- Entry line up begins at 8:45 am MDT and all floats must be lined up ready to start by 9:45 am. Line up placement and details will be emailed to you .
- Parade officials walking along the parade route will assist entries. Entries are required to follow directions given by these officials. Entries that fail to follow this rule may be removed from the parade.
- Distance between units shall not be less than 100 or more than 300 feet.
- In the interest of public safety, candy, frisbees or any other items handed out along the parade route are not to be handed or thrown from vehicles or floats. All items distributed shall be outside of the farthest outside travel lane (Typically outside the white fog line.) Candy and/or any other item should be handed out by walkers alongside your entry rather than thrown. We do not want children running out into the street to get candy. Violating this requirement may result in removal from the parade and denial of future applications.
- Flyers and paper soliciting is not allowed.
- All motorized vehicle operators must be able to show a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- If your performing group (dance, band, cheerleading, school groups and clubs) has a routine to perform, please make sure it is designed to permit constant forward movement of the parade. No stopping or holding up traffic will be permitted.
- Any animal or group of animals shall be required to have a clean-up crew immediately following the animal or group of animals.
- No unauthorized entry will be allowed on the parade route.
- Parade officials walking along the parade route will assist entries to maintain proper spacing. Entries are required to follow directions given by these officials. Entries that fail to follow this rule may be removed from the parade.
- No motorcycles, three wheelers, four wheelers, bicycles, skateboards, roller skates or inline skates are permitted without an application.
- No train horns allowed as they spook the animals.
- As a condition of participation, participants agree that Short Creek Festivities does not assume responsibility for any injury or harm and agrees to indemnify Short Creek Festivities, its officers, volunteers and agents from any and all claims, liabilities, damages and losses arising, directly or indirectly, out of Participant’s involvement in the parade. *

The parade will start at 10:00 am sharp. - Parade route will go down Central Street starting at Field Ave and head south (finishing at Edson Ave), so make sure you find a good place on the street to watch.

NOTICE: The towns of Colorado City, Hildale, the Colorado City Police Department, and SC Festivities will be responsible for the admission of floats into the parade. It is not the duty of the Parade Director to permit any floats to participate in the Parade. Once your application has been approved, you will be contacted to submit payment.
